Happy Birthday to Colin
and as we like to call it...
Colintine’s Day.
if you know you know (iykyk)
It’s only fitting that Colin was born on Valentine's Day
a day that celebrates L-O-V-E.
He grabbed a hold of my heart
the moment he was born.
Colin possesses
a sweet, kind heart and
has always been a thoughtful
and loving son...
who brings us all
so much joy.
From his lil teenage mutant ninja self to now…
it's fun to be in Colin’s orbit.
And he has lots of fans out there in his universe…
Some have looked like this…
but his best fans look like...
This year we invited Colin over for dinner
for an early birthday celebration.
I was relieved,
when we asked him what he wanted for dinner
and he requested
steak
instead of meatloaf. (iykyk)
Nothing says "Happy Birthday" like a
steak cake.
Anywhooo….
I have a little story …from the wayback machine.
Thank you, Mr. Peabody for your invention.

Back in the day when our kids were still living at home,
I attended a dentist convention.
No, I’m not a dentist,
would never want to be one…
and I’m actually afraid of dentists and
their little drills.
I was there to see a good friend
who worked for a motivational speaker, Connie Podesta.
Connie’s presentation was not only informative,
but also VERY entertaining and interactive.
At one point, she gave us all a personality shapes test.
Out of the 4 personality shapes,
Circle, Triangle Squiggle, Square…
I was a squiggle.
Apparently you can be a combo.
So I came home and immediately gave the test to my family….
and lo and behold we had one other squiggle in the family.
Colin.
Not surprised.
Creative, loves new ideas…an idea generator.
But as far as dentists go…
let’s just say I’d want my dentist to be a triangle….
or anything other than a squiggle.
So what do you give a fellow squiggle for his birthday?
Definitely something that says "Happy Birthday"
but in a rare understated hold the confetti kind of way.
So I came up with an idea…
A dozen eggs.
First off, such a stellar idea...
(way to go Kat)
Colin wants to eat protein.
Colin loves eggs.
Eggs are overpriced.
Eggs are often sold out.
Eggs are a valuable commodity.
Second, more importantly...
what better gift for a birthday than an egg?
After all,
an egg is a symbol of creation,
of birth…
the origin of life.
And now I see the origin
of a new birthday gift tradition.
Happy Birthday to
my fellow squiggle
and
all around
GOOD EGG.
(I promise these eggs haven't expired.)
