Happy Birthday Chelsea

This year,

Chelsea's birthday is extra sweet.

It's her first Birthday

as a

mother of 3.

Chelsea and Austin have been blessed with

3 darlings

who promise to make her day

even more special

and a tad more chaotic.

Ansley, Presley and Daisy don’t know it yet,

but they are

learning from a pro...

learning about

life, love, laughter…

taking pictures :)

and making

 life events and birthdays

extra special

and

memorable.

half year = half cake

Chelsea puts her heart and soul into it all...

because

that's who she is through and through...

true-blue,

tried and true.

Anywhooo….

I’m remembering Chelsea as a newborn…

our first,

born in Jacksonville, FL

and me as a newbie mom,

trying to entertain my 4 month old between sleeps…

"Roly Poly bird's my friend" sung 100 times/day.

feeding, singing, swinging, singing, swinging, feeding...

thinking how am I gonna entertain her

for the rest of the day?

But then in

a blink of an eye,

a bat of an eyelash,

or

a nanosecond of time….

 38 years go by

and we have

3 GREAT kids

and

4 GRAND kids.

So much time has passed

 after all these years,

I hardly recognize myself

back then.

Sometimes I like picturing our family back in our house in Avon, CT;

remembering Chelsea tucked in her blue sponge painted bedroom,

Colin in a bedroom plastered in music posters and sports banners and

Bri in her sunny yellow room...

that feeling of content that my 3 lil chicks were under my roof...

safe and protected

before they grew up and

made their own way into the world.

I can still see Chelsea…

every morning before school,

running to her window of her 2nd floor bedroom

waving to her Dad...👋👋

and her Dad waving back through his sunroof 👋 👋

as he drove by the front of the house on his way to work.

And if you know Chelsea,

when it becomes her thing…

it’s her thing.

However,

Chelsea is still a young mom

with oodles of time with her own

3 chicks under her roof

to mold,

behold,

handhold...

and to love

millionfold.

Happy Birthday

to our first born…

the first

to teach us

about parenthood...

the first

to teach

her siblings

about fun with

life long chums...

first friends...forever friends

and

the first

to teach us how

BIG

and

mushy

our hearts could become.

Happy Birthday Chelsea,

We send our love

today

and

every day 👋👋

I Love Golf/I Hate Golf - The Golf Go-Round

Golf is the most humbling sport you can play.

It doesn’t give you

LOVE

like Tennis

and it's not

FORE

the faint of heart.

I learned to play golf with a group of friends

many golf ball revolutions ago.

So I should be a pro by now, right?

My friend, Elaine, remembers a shot when I

chipped in on a green so elevated

that I couldn't see the top of the flag.

It was a beautiful stroke

of luck.

That hole today is a parking lot

in a strip mall.

I have to admit,

I score better shopping.

50% OFF Sale…

KAT SHOPS.

KAT SCORES.

There are times when I'm on fire...

firing on all cylinders...

like the other day when

I chipped in from off the green.

Drained it….BOOM...

bottom of the cup.

Golf is Easy.

I LOVE GOLF.

However,

there are days

when I play like I was never introduced to a golf ball.

So I need to re-introduce myself,

like the classic Honeymooners golf episode…

"Hello ball.”

 Golf is Hard.

I HATE GOLF.

 The classic

golf-go-round...

I LOVE GOLF/ I HATE GOLF

Anywhoooo…..

Golf courses are usually

 pretty places.

I LOVE GOLF.

Even if you aren’t having the best round,

you can enjoy the views,

the fresh air,

and

wild life.

PaulA loves to give me pointers

and

I try to follow what Coach PaulA tells me....

but I find it very hard when he says….

“Move your front foot back.”

Coach, Whaaat you talkin'' 'bout?

I only have a left foot and a right foot.

(Apparently good golfers have a

left foot, right foot

AND

a front foot.)

I HATE GOLF.

Then he'll tell me stuff like...

"less arm,

more wrist,

less dip,

 more turn"...

but the ball doesn't cooperate.

I REALLY HATE GOLF.

Fortunately, a round of golf

 is followed by

my most favorite round…

a gin and tonic with lime,

please.

I REALLY, REALLY LOVE GOLF.
