Anywhooooo….
Remembering Chelsea through the ages…
brings back many feels and highlight reels
but I'm sharing a recent memory that I will HOLD
brought about by her daughter, Presley.
Presley was turning 5
and we were celebrating sweet P with a dinner at a nearby restaurant.
And how fun we could get there by golf cart...
just a quick drive to the neighborhood tennis courts,
where we parked,
and a little walk through some trees.
After dinner (and a happy healthy plate of fries) for the birthday girl,
we headed back toward our getaway cart.
Chelsea and I were in the lead
with the fam walking behind us.
Austin was carrying baby Daisy and holding Presley’s hand,
PaulA (aka Hop) was holding Ansley’s hand when…
Presley in her sweet voice spoke up and said,
“I’m holding my Dad’s hand,
Hop is holding Ansley’s hand.
Mom and MeMe should hold hands.”
What a sweet idea, P …
So Chelsea and I took each other’s hand saying
“We haven’t walked together holding hands in a long time.”
At that moment, all I could think about was how wonderful it felt
to be holding Chelsea’s hand
(which by the way is the softest ever) …
and the memories of her little hand holding mine.
forever. precious.
My little girl with a big beautiful smile.
My first born
who taught me how to be a mom…
or gave me the opportunity to learn how to be one.
Even after 39 years, she's still and will
be my "little girl"
in my heart.
Presley’s request for her mom and me...
to hold hands was not lost on this MeMe.
She was completing her family
love loop...
to feel
connected and united.
A love that doesn’t have an end…
and only keeps repeating.
