Dog Bowl Spills Hall of Fame

People love dogs.

Dogs love people.

Where does that leave cats?

Leaves them outside…I tell ya...

in the rain.

And a  Kat with matted hair ain’t so pretty.

Dogs are huMAN’s best friend.

Kats are human at best.

Anywho…

Back in the day…

we had a family dog named Duncandog 

or rather Duncandog had us...

at woof woof.

He was a Portuguese Water Dog that didn’t like water. 

No doggie paddle for that 4-legged. 

We were hoping he would be a swimmer...
but that dog don't swim.

To his credit...

he understood Portuguese.

We loved his furry self.

He was Mr. Personality Plus and known

family wide as Rappa D.

Duncandog was also bona fido smart…

so he easily yanked us around by the chain.  

We were at his beckon bark...

-A little bark by the back slider doors 

to go outside to do his mind-your-own-business. 

 -A bark at 5pm to remind us it was his dinner time.  

Seriously, he could tell time. 

-A bark by the dishwasher after dinner 

to get me off my lazy ass 

to load the dishwasher so he could lick the plates. 

-And a bark near his water bowl 

to let us know it needed a refill.

We used to keep Duncandog's water bowl on the kitchen floor   

in a place 

if you weren’t paying attention 

you could easily knock it awry and 
spill water all over the floor.

Conse - hence...
(new word i just made up...a hence with a consequence)
many a friend and neighbor 

spilled his water bowl 

and would feel badly for doing it. 

Do you think we moved the bowl to a new place 

so it couldn’t easily be knocked over…

you know, 
to spare someone embarrassment?

  Nope.  

And miss out on all the 
giggles and guffaws?
Nah.

After knocking over Duncandog’s water bowl…

the spilling member would sign into the 
Dog Spills Hall of Fame. 

Best-in-Show.

We kept the official document
  in the kitchen drawer over his bowl 
for handy signing.  

Looking at the signatures now,  

I see many impressive people have made the 

Dog Bowl Spills 

Hall of Fame.

I’m also seeing some family member's signatures...
Chelsea and PaulA... 
which would raise the question...
why?

You don’t see my name listed, do you?  

That’s understandable…

Kat’s are smarter than the
 humans they live with.
